  • Site PI, Segundo Ruiz Belvis Diagnostic and Treatment Center, HPTN 065 (CDC HIV Prevention Trials Network). HPTN 065 evaluated the feasibility of an enhanced community-level test, link to care plus treat strategy in the United States.  The study assessed a cascade of interlocking interventions including: Expanded HIV Testing, Linkage-to-Care, Viral Suppression, Prevention for Positives, Patient and Provider Surveys. 2011-2014.
  • Site PI, Segundo Ruiz Belvis Diagnostic and Treatment Center, PCM3: Collaborative Care to Reduce Depression and Increase Cancer Screening among Low-Income Urban Women (PCM3 Clinical Directors’ Network). The major goal of this project is to ascertain whether an intervention that addresses depression and cancer screening needs at the same time among women ages 50-64 in the Bronx is more effective at improving cancer screening and patient-reported outcomes for women with depression than an existing, previously tested cancer screening intervention alone.  2014 to 2015.

Non-Peer Reviewed Grants

  • Site Clinical Director, Segundo Ruiz Belvis Diagnostic and Treatment Center, Title X NYSDOH Family Planning Grant. Wrote RFA, received award, and managed implementation of $300,000 grant to improve access to family planning and infertility prevention for teens and adults. 2011-2015.
  • Site Director, Segundo Ruiz Belvis Diagnostic and Treatment Center, HIV Testing Expansion Grants. Annually, developed HIV Testing Quality Improvement Project Proposal to improve the proportion of unique patients testing for HIV from the eligible population. Increased HIV testing in the Medicine, OB/GYN, pediatric and dental departments through point-of-care testing.  Improved HIV+ patient access to Nutrition services.  2009-2015.
  • Site Director, Segundo Ruiz Belvis Diagnostic and Treatment Center, Advancing Early Intervention Services for Toddlers in New York City. Worked with autism experts from Hunter College to study interventions on provider education and workflows to improve regular use of autism screening tools on toddlers.  2013-2014.
  • Site PI, Washington Heights Family Health Center, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Walking for Health. Conceived, developed protocol for, secured funding for and managed an IRB-approved behavioral Modification exercise program. 2007-2009.
